Our Wedding

We met on the eharmony dating site at a time when we were both about ready to give up on finding our special person. I (Stephen) made the first move and sent Becca a message (as I was being my gentlemanly self) and just complimented her on her beauty.&nbsp;Then, she sent a reply and the rest is history.&nbsp;We were messaging each other for two weeks before I asked her for her number so that we could go on a date.&nbsp;She shared it and we began planning our first date together, which was eventful.&nbsp;I was late to it and the location was in Waxahachie at a theater formerly called Snowbiz and now called EVO.&nbsp;I facetimed with Becca letting her know that I was going to be late due to construction and traffic near Arlington and Kennedale.&nbsp;This was my first time being in this city and Becca’s first time going on a date that was halfway between where we lived.&nbsp;(At this point in our early relationship, I was calling her Rebecca instead of Becca.&nbsp;She asked me to call her Becca later during our third date.)&nbsp;So, I got to Snowbiz and Becca changed the movie as I was getting there late.&nbsp;As I parked, we were talking on the phone and looking for each other.&nbsp;We saw each other for the first time in real life from a few parking spaces away from each other.&nbsp;We hugged tightly and then Becca gave me the biggest kiss.&nbsp;I didn’t expect it, but was happily surprised.&nbsp;The movie we chose for our date was “Wakanda Forever” which is the sequel to “Black Panther.”&nbsp;We walked in, got our tickets, found the movie, and sat down together to watch it.&nbsp;In typical Stephen fashion I fell asleep during the movie, but I continued to hold Becca’s hand while I was asleep as I had never done that before -&nbsp;and at that moment, I knew I was comfortable around her.&nbsp;Since we didn’t eat anything during the movie, I made the “romantic” suggestion of us eating Taco Bell in the Snowbiz parking lot and we began talking (at length) about Rings of Power, other interests, and the many things we have in common.&nbsp;I knew she was special.&nbsp;She is an answer to prayer and such a blessing in my life. I (Rebecca) remember our early conversations on eharmony and text messages.&nbsp;He used a lot of emojis.&nbsp;I remember being a little unsure, but after a few facetimes I realized that they were a part of his very cute, sweet, goofy, quirky, bubbly, and charming personality.&nbsp;Now I use just as many emojis in our text messages as he does.&nbsp;It was also through these facetimes that I began to become comfortable with Stephen - so comfortable apparently that I kissed him on our first date.&nbsp;This was uncharacteristic of me, as I am generally very shy when first meeting someone. The more we talked, texted, and dated, the more comfortable I felt.&nbsp;We very quickly learned that we liked a lot of the same things, several shows especially, and we quickly made a list of shows that one another had not seen that we wanted to introduce to each other so that we could watch them together.&nbsp;Even though we met online, I began to feel like the Lord meant for us to meet one another.&nbsp;I appreciate how sweet and kind he is -&nbsp;a true gentleman.&nbsp;I love his knowledge of history, to which he enjoys quizzing me during drives or just for fun.&nbsp;It didn’t take either of us very long to realize we were falling for one another.&nbsp;I had finally found my person in Stephen, as he is my best friend and the man for whom I love with all of my heart. The night Stephen asked me to marry him, is a night that I will never forget.&nbsp;He surprised my family and me while on vacation at Disney World and proposed to me in front of Cinderella’s Castle.&nbsp;I remember feeling like I couldn't believe that this amazing man wanted me to be his wife or that I was getting proposed to at Disney.&nbsp;According to Stephen I squealed, and everyone around us started cheering.&nbsp;Stephen and I are looking forward to the next chapter in our lives as husband and wife.&nbsp;We are excited to celebrate with all of you, our family, and friends.
